Big Lottery windfall for local groups
THREE local community-based organisations have been awarded funding from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme.
The small grants programme is awarding £3,025 to Mid-Antrim Riding for the Disabled, £6,990 to the Dunclug Partnership and £8,944 to Broughshane Loyal Orange Lodge No.503 as part of a grants roll-out of £647,422 to 83 groups across Northern Ireland.
Awards for All offers community, voluntary and statutory groups the chance to apply for small grants of between £500 and £10,000 that will have a big impact on local communities and the lives of people most in need.
The Ballymena based Mid-Antrim Riding for the Disabled Group which provides horse therapy for children with disabilities, will use the grant to run riding sessions for pupils from a local special school.
The Dunclug Partnership, which is made up of a number of local organisations working together to improve the health and well-being of people in the Dunclug area, will use their grant to run a range of community events.
And, Broughshane Loyal Orange Lodge No 503, which runs events and activities for people in the local area, will use their grant to carry out improvements to its hall so it is more comfortable for the people who use it.
