Countdown on to new year swim

THE countdown is on to the 41st Ballymena Spina Bifida Association sponsored swim which will take place, as always, at Carnlough harbour on New Year’s Day.

Last year 91 hardy souls took the plunge and no doubt this year many of those people will take to the water at 12 noon, along with some newcomers.

Among those hoping to take part will be Jeff Bell, who has taken part in all of the past 40 swims.

Anyone wishing to participate will be most welcome and if they wish to obtain a sponsorship form they can be obtained from Billy McIlroy, 12 Rathlin Drive, Ballymena (02825644326 or 07718809314) or Myrtle Taylor at Ballymena Business Equipment, Larne Street, Ballymena.
