Local opticians support Male Voice Choir

A BALLYMENA male voice choir has received financial support from their local Specsavers opticians.

The renowned Seven Towers Male Voice Choir is holding their annual concert on March 22 and 23 in the Braid Arts Centre.

Established in 1925 and with a current membership of 55 men, who travel from many parts of the province to practice once a week, the choir relies on public donations and sponsorship to keep going.

Specsavers, Ballymena, along with other supporters of the choir, offered financial support to this year’s concert by sponsoring two pages in the choir’s programme.

Store director, Adrian Murdoch, says: “My dad is a member of the Seven Towers Male Voice Choir and I understand how much financial contributions, no matter how large or small, can help sustain the running of this organisation.

“The choir hosts sell-out events such as this annual concert and invites a guest artist to attend. This year, Catriona Scullion, a leading Irish Soprano from Northern Ireland, will be present along with the Ballymena Academy Jazz group, with Eva Richards on cello.

“All of us at the Ballymena Specsavers store would like to wish the Seven Towers Male Voice Choir all the very best for their March concert, and we will be looking forward to attending.”

Specsavers is located in Fairhill Shopping Centre, Ballymena, and is open seven days a week: Mon – Wed from 8:45am – 5:30pm, Thursday and Friday 9am – 8:30pm, Saturdays, from 8:45am – 5.30pm, and Sunday 1pm- 5pm. Please phone 028 2564 8100 to make an appointment for an eye or hearing test.
