Man pistol-whipped during attempted armed robbery

DETECTIVES in Ballymena are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery of commercial premises in the Queen Street area of Ballymena earlier today, Friday, December 14.

Police received a report at around 6.45am that a male had entered the premises with what is believed to be a firearm and tried to rob the premises. He hit a staff member over the head with the firearm.

Nothing was stolen during the incident.

Detectives would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them at Ballymena on 0845 600 8000.
