MAYOR of Ballymena, Alderman PJ McAvoy has congratulated a number of local people who received certificates after completing training in a Suicide/Safe Talk programme.
This training followed on from a recent talk given by Conor McCafferty, at which 110 persons attended.
Both events were hosted by Dunclug Partnership who, along with other major stakeholders, have developed an action plan to address health and well being.
Colum Best, project manger with Dunclug Partnership, stated both these events exceeded expectations.
Such was the uptake for the Conor McCafferty talk that it had to be moved to the main hall in the parish centre.
It was also very good to see so many youth from the Dunclug Youth Forum attend the talk which concentrated mainly on the effects of alcohol.
