Medal honour for Ballymena T.A. Medic
Major Marie Semple from Ballymena shows husband Ian the Volunteer Reserve Service Medal which she received at a formal reception at Hillsborough Castle in recognition of her decade of service as a Territorial Army Medic .
BALLYMENA woman Major Marie Semple has been recognised and honoured for giving a decade of outstanding service as a Territorial Army Medic at a formal reception in Hillsborough Castle.
Major Semple, who serves with 204 Field Hospital (Volunteers) and who will shortly deploy for a tour of duty in Afghanistan, was presented with the Volunteer Reserve Service Medal.
Adding his congratulations to those of her family, 204’s Commanding Officer, Colonel Alan Black, said Major Semple “represents all that is best about the volunteer ethos”, adding: “Her expertise and professionalism teamed with her unwavering commitment have proven invaluable, while her good humour has ensured her popularity with all who work with her.
“We are all delighted to see Marie’s service recognised and honoured,” he said.
