One dead, one seriously injured after Ballymena stabbing

A 26 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after an incident in Ballymena.

Detectives are investigating the death of a 64 year old man in the Carnvale area of Ballymena during the early hours of this morning.

A 59 year old woman has been taken to hospital suffering from stab wounds. Her condition is described as serious.

The man arrested is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

Carnvale is a private housing development off Carniny Road.
