Margaret Gurney from Ballymena (left) who was awarded the B.E.M  in the Queen's New Year Honours List, is pictured with her daughter, Valerie, attending the Garden Party at Buckingham Palace last month.  Local Alzheimer's Society volunteer Margaret was awarded the British Empire Medal for her services to the community in Ballymena and Antrim and received her medal at a ceremony at Hillsborough at the end of April.
