High Sheriffs from across Northern Ireland met in Ballymena recently as they prepare for their year of office ahead.

The event was hosted in Montgomery’s Restaurant by James Perry, High Sheriff for County Antrim, along with his wife Patricia and daughter Sarah. Special guest at the event was Joan Christie OBE, Lord Lieutenant for Co. Antrim.

The role of High Sheriff is now mostly ceremonial but it is one of the oldest secular offices in the United Kingdom.
