UUP MLA Robin Swann has praised “the professionalism and dedication” of a local flute band currently celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Assemblyman Swann, a member of the Apprentice Boys and a Past Master in both the Orange and Black Institutions, was speaking as he attended the recent Apprentice Boys celebrations in Londonderry where Kells Sons of William Flute Band were on parade.

He said: “The Kells Sons of William Flute Band is to be warmly congratulated on achieving its 40th anniversary and the band marked that anniversary with a magnificent turnout in Londonderry where it led the Antrim Branch of the Murray Club of the Apprentice Boys.

“It is my sincere hope that the band will be around to serve the community and constituency with the professionalism and skills of its music and marching for many decades to come,” said Assemblyman Swann.
