Cllr Declan O’Loan has urged Translink to get on with constructing Cullybackey Park and Ride in order to address the lack of capacity at the Ballymena Park and Ride.

The Mid & East Antrim SDLP Councillor said: “I have been contacted by a number of train users about the lack of capacity at the Ballymena Park and Ride. I know from my own experience that this is the case. Travellers are being forced to look for parking on Princes Street. I am told that the problem at Ballymena will only be properly addressed as part of the station rebuild which is about three years away.

“In the meantime, it would help very much if the Cullybackey Park and Ride were constructed. As well as being more convenient for many travellers, this would relieve pressure on the parking spaces at Ballymena. The Cullybackey scheme is agreed, it just needs to get done.”
