The Public Records Office of Northern Ireland will host a series of free events to allow people to become more familair with the archives they hold.
Have you ever wanted to visit PRONI but were unsure what to do? Now is your chance to find out.
As part of Explore Your Archives week, PRONI have devised a programme of events based around daily themes to enable visitors to find out how to use PRONI and also an introduction to the records PRONI holds.
Culture, Arts and Leisure Minister Carál Ní Chuilín said: “Our archives are an invaluable source, no matter what the purpose of your research. Explore Your Archives week is an excellent opportunity to find out exactly what lies behind the doors of PRONI.
“Even if you have never been before, I would recommend that you make some time to visit during this week. You can learn how to use the resources, look behind the scenes and see how the documents are stored. With over three million records to explore, it is well worth a trip.”
Explore Your Archives week runs from 10 -14 November and is aimed at raising awareness of our archives and how to use PRONI’s facilities if you have never visited before. Each day has a unique hashtag allocated to it so if you are tweeting be sure to use them!
