Councillors have approved an approach to corporate branding for the new Mid & East Antrim Council after a recommendation that Larne Leisure Centre be renamed was withdrawn.

They did so in the wake of an update on the implementation of branding across the borough at their November monthly meeting,

Among the recommendations contained in the update report was the renaming of Larne Leisure Centre through a public engagement, however, this was withdrawn at the outset of the report’s delivery by Council’s Change Manager.

The meeting subsequently approved the remaining recommendations including that the three leisure centres become fully branded in line with the corporate identity; that the three sub-brand identities of the Braid, Carrickfergus Museum and The Gobbins are retained, with guidance developed on suitable use alongside the corporate brand; and, that a further review of remaining brands would be carried out.
