Proud evening for Ballygelly LOL

Some of the highest ranking officials in orangeism were present for the unfurling of a new banner for Ballygelly LOL.

The ceremony took place in the village of Broughshane and the act of unfurling was performed by Mrs. David Robinson, wife of the late Worshipful Master of the lodge.

Ceremonial scissors were presented by Miss Zara Morris. The last banner was unfurled 40 years ago.

Rt. Wor. Bro Rev. Ian McClean lead the act of dedication with the Very Rev. Dean John Bond and the Rev. Mark Neilly also taking part in the service.

Guests speakers for the evening were Most Wor. Bro, Edward Stevenson, Grand Master of Ireland and Rt. Wor. Bro. William R Matthews, County Grand Master.

Messages of congratulations, thanks and appreciation were also conveyed byRt. Wor. Bro. D. J. Gray, Assistant County grand Secretary and Wor. District Master and by Rt. Wor. Bro Norman Bell, Deputy County Grand Master and Grand Master of the Royal Arch Purple Chapter of Ireland.

Lodge representative, Bro. Tommy Douglas said : “We would like to thank everybody who gave donations for the banner and helped in any way.”
