Now celebrating its second successful year in business, The Misty Burn at Glenwherry continues to draw regular customers from a wide area who enjoy tucking into great food in beautiful surroundings.
Just 24 months on from its opening, this cafe and convenience store has become renowned for its fabulously fresh and tasty, locally produced fare.
Located in one of the borough’s most historic buildings, formerly The Battery Inn, The Misty Burn is full of old world rustic charm, making it the perfect place to go for breakfast, lunch, take-aways, daily specials, Sunday lunch, afternoon tea or to simply enjoy a coffee.
The Misty Burn serves only the best of fresh local produce from a wide range of local suppliers including fresh meat from Ferguson’s of Cullybackey, bread and cakes from R.J. Kerr’s and ice cream from Mauds, to name but a few.
It was back in 2013 that Samantha Norgate and Tara Bruce turned the Inn into a fantastic new coffee shop/cafe and convenience store and the success of their venture means they haven’t looked back since.
New customers who are familiar with the 287-year-old Battery Inn will be amazed at the transformation into a bright spacious coffee shop/cafe offering incredible views whilst they enjoy a tasty treat.
Tara and Sam have kept some of the old rustic charm of the Battery, retaining the original fireplace and wooden beams, while giving the old place a new lease of life.
It’s a winning combination which the local community and new customers have come to love along with the warm welcome and quality produce which always await at The Misty Burn.
You can enjoy a delicious breakfast, sandwiches, freshly cooked chicken goujons, or a hearty meal from the daily specials, including ‘The Misty Burn burger’. You can also tuck into homemade desserts and many more delicious treats in the bright and spacious coffee shop/cafe.
