Food ambassadors recently visited the Home Economics department of St Louis Grammar and whetted the appetite of pupils for the Tasty Careers programme

Their purpose was to promote job opportunities in the food and drink manufacturing industry to young people as potential careers with both lucrative salaries and great long term prospects.

Geoff Lamb (Business Development Manager for NI Food & Drink Sector Skills), Gemma Turkington (Manager, Moy Park), Joanna Burns and Nicola Graham (Dale Farm) provided an entertaining and informative profile of their educational path to their current positions, aspects of their day-to-day jobs, salary ranges and future aspirations.

A spokesperson said: “This programme proved extremely beneficial for students and provided an excellent insight to the wide range of career opportunities open to students within the food and drink manufacturing industry”.
