With the domestic seasons now at close, Carniny Amateur & Youth FC U10, U11, U13 and U17 teams are now focussing on the 2015 Foyle Cup.

Carniny Youth have a long association with the Foyle Cup which is a great opportunity to experience tournament with teams from Ireland the UK and further afield taking part under the watchful eyes of football scouts.

The club’s Under 17s will be running trials at the end of this season for anyone who thinks they may be up to the standard of playing in the tournament.

Prospective players they will be looking for are those born in 1998/1999 and anyone interested should contact Ian on 07721596775 or Billy on 07850669666 sooner rather than later.

The squad will be resident in the North West during the tournament and will take part in other activities during the week.

This same team played in last year’s tournament and if this year’s tournament is as good as last years then demand will be high for places.

The Under 13s will also be competing in this year’s tournament and any players interested should contact Jason Hunter 07885899290.

PRESENTATION NIGHTS

The club’s end of season nights will be held over two for the various age groups.

The Under 17s, Youth and senior team’s dinner function will be held in the Adair Arms Hotel Saturday 13th June.

Former player Josh Carson, now of York City, will be in attendance for the evening.

The Under 10 - 15s presentation night will be held at Michelin Athletic Club, Woodside Road on Friday 19th June. The Under10s and 11s will be from 7-8:30pm whilst the U12 to 15s will be from 8:30pm – 10pm. Again those attending should contact their respective team managers.

COERVER INTRO COURSE

Last Saturday saw Carniny Youth coaches attend a Coerver Intro Coaching session with Coerver Coaching Ulster’s Austin Speight.

All who attended the course enjoyed the day and appreciated Austin putting on the session. Carniny Youth hope to continue on the association with Coerver Coaching Ulster on an all round basis for the club.

The club are soon set to make another exciting football announcement which will benefit the club’s players and coaches alike.

SPONSORED WALK

Last Wednesday night the Carniny U12 team, Coaches, and some brave parents went on their annual sponsored walk. This year the walk took place around a 4mile route of the Ecos Centre.

Despite the poor weather, the team completed the route, were in high spirits, and raised funds for their upcoming team day way.

Players, officials and parents have thanked McLarnon’s Ramble Inn who kindly continued their sponsorship of the walk for another year.
