The charity fundraiser between coaches from Ballymena United Youth Academy and Carniny Youth on Saturday morning at the Showgrounds proved a great success.

A sizeable crowd turned out to watch a challenge match between the coaches of the two local youth set ups.

Ballymena were bolstered by ‘senior’ team staff Glen Ferguson, Wes Lamont, Gordon McCartney,Norman Kelly and Lee Doherty whilst Carniny brought out former coaches such as ex Ballymena United brothers Henry and Kenny Spence, Saturday Morning League legend Rab Wright, ex Donegal Celtic pair Dessie Lemon and Marty Hart and ex Conference player Lee Barry.

The charity was not only supported by the proceeds of a ‘gate’ but by the generosity of some local business and individual donations.

Both Ballymena United Youth Academy and Carniny A& YFC wish to thank everyone for their support and generosity in what is hoped will now become an annual event.
