Homers land Irish Junior Cup glory
Harryville Homers became the first team in the 45-year history of the Ballymena Saturday Morning League to win the Coca-Cola IFA Junior Cup on Monday.
Robert Duddy’s men beat Lisbellaw United 3-1 in the May Day final at Mill Meadow, Castledawson, to land the biggest prize in junior football in this country.
Man-of-the-match Paul McNeill scored twice and then set up Alan Rainey for Homers’ third after their Fermanagh opponents had pulled a goal back and threatened a comeback.
