Milk Cup: Shevlin fires County Antrim into semi-finals
Ballymena’s Matthew Shevlin opened his Dale Farm Milk Cup goalscoring account to fire County Antrim into the semi-finals of the competition.
The Ballymena United striker scored both his side’s goals as they defeated Japanese side Higashi Fukuoka 2-1 in Portrush.
It means the Antrim squad - which also includes Shevlin’s Ballymena team-mates Eamon Fyfe and Josh Corry - completed their group matches with a 100 per cent record of three wins from three games, securing a place in the semi-finals of the main competition.
Several of the Antrim panel, including Corry and Fyfe, were in the County Antrim junior squad which reached the final of the junior section two years ago.
