Teams enjoyed yet another glorious day of sunshine which has generally been the case for almost every week of competition this season.

League secretary Billy O’Flaherty at the close of play made special mention not only to the players but the young referees who covered all the games and helped to set up.

He thanked fixture secretary Sandra Christie, who was the chief organiser each week of competition and presented her with flowers as well as mentioning Chairman Arthur McClean and treasurer Henry Spence who ensured the league was always financially solvent.

Before mentioning the helpful staff at Ballymena Showgrounds Billy thanked Wes Gregg and Mo McDowell from the Irish Football Association who have supported the league for several years.

IFA Development Officer Wes Gregg finished off proceedings by thanking parents for bringing the children each week as well as the coaches who as volunteers gave of their time for the benefit of so many young people. Special Merit awards were made to coaches Davy Boyd of Carniny Youth and John Devlin of Northend United Youth who have so much locally to promote grass roots football within the borough.
