One of the Ballymena area’s most popular youth football competitions kicks off another season this weekend.
The Ballymena Invitational Mini Soccer League, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, will runs across various primary school age groups over the next number of weeks.
The competition has given many youngsters their first taste of organised football action with some going on to play at higher levels.
Among them are Northern Ireland international Josh Carson, while several others such as Rodney Brown (Linfield), Samuel McIlveen (Glenavon) and Ballymena United duo Matthew Shevlin and Jason Johnston have gone onto play at Irish League level.
The competition kikcs off at the Showgrounds this Saturday with the P2 age group.
