In the Lisburn League the Under 11s lost out in an 11 goal thriller, a late penalty for Ards Rangers the only goal splitting the teams.

Carniny then trailed 3-1 before Greer charged down the wing and beat his man at the by-line to cross a low hard ball across to Magee who fired a daisy cutter straight in for 3-2.

Early in the second half Moody took a corner which reached McMullan at the far post. He squared to Greer to tap home to equalise but Cariny were caught cold with a goal straight from the resulting centre.

Carniny levelled again when another corner from Moody was whipped in with pace, which the defenders couldn’t deal with and he got credited with a goal.

But yet again Carniny fell behind soon afterwards, only for Magee’s stepovers to get him past the defender to crash home his second, 5-5. In the dying minutes, Ards were attacking and the ball broke in the box. In clearing the ball, Greer and the attacker’s shins clashed and the referee awarded a penalty for the game to end 6-5.

The second half saw the Carniny team holding back while Annalong stepped up their game and were rewarded for this with their second goal after just five minutes of the second half. Annalong were awarded a free kick minutes before the end of the game and went on to score their third and decisive goal.

Carniny Youth 1, TTBS Minors 1 (TTBS won 4-2 on pens): After Kelly had hit the post early on, the same player opened the scoring for Carniny on 17 minutes.

The second half saw TTBS come out with all guns blazing and after two minutes they equalised.

Extra time saw both teams holding on tight and the game went to penalties which Carniny lost 4-2

Carniny lost top scorer Scullion to injury before Glentoran profited from a defensive mix-up to take the lead.

Carniny pressed hard for an equaliser in the seond half but were hit by the sucker punch of a goal they felt was offside.

Holland hit the bar while Lynn failed to convert with the goal unguarded. This would have change the game but instead the Glens went straight up the field and grabbed a flattering third goal. Carniny take on third placed Ridgeway in the league this week.
