In the Lisburn League , John Devlin’s U13s continue to steadily improve and will feel aggrieved they didn’t get all the points against Greenisland Boys in a match that finished 1-1.

Elsewhere in the Lisburn League the U14s, U15s and U16s all lost their League matches against Shankill Juniors, Carrick Rangers and North Belfast respectively.

Mountjoy United 2, Northend United 0: ★Mountjoy edged themselves in-front after seven minutes when their left midfielder latched onto an over-hit cross from the far side of the pitch and volleyed a screamer into the roof of the Blues goal.

In the second half, an early attack from Mountjoy led to the referee awarding a free kick on the edge of the Northend box and the Ballymena boys were unlucky to see a glancing header bounce off the far post and into goal.

With four minutes remaining an in-swinging cross from Cal O’Brien was flicked goal-ward by Callum McMurray and agonisingly hit the post. MOM - Jack Adams.

Greenisland 1, Northend United 1: Northend started slowly but got stronger as the first half progressed and went in front on the seventeenth minute when Connor Meeke scored a great goal when he shot from a tight angle, from twenty five yards out, and watched on as it flew into the net.

Northend make a few changes at the break and this seemed to favour Greenisland as Northend struggled to get any momentum during the second half. However the Blues felt harshly done when the referee awarded Greenisland a penalty when the ball bounced up and hit a Blues defender between the chest and arm. Greenisland duly converted to draw level in the match. MOM - Oisin Connelly
