Elsewhere in the North West, Brian Martin’s U12s Youth team were in action against Roe Valley but were on the wrong end of a 5-2 scoreline.

With the U8s SSG competition now finished on Friday night, it was down to the U9s on Saturday morning to fly the flag for Northend in Ballymena this week when they competed in an invitational tournament at the Showgrounds organised by Northend’s Football Development Officer, John Devlin, featuring teams from Antrim Rovers, Ballymena United, Carniny and Whitehead Eagles.
