Northend United Youth scale new heights as they prepare for Foyle Cup

Northend United Youth under-11s took their preparations for the forthcoming Foyle Cup to new heights at the weekend.

With both the U10s and U11s playing in the north west-based in the next few weeks, it was the turn of the U11s to raise some funds to help with the cost of participating, when they were involved in a sponsored climb of Slemish at the weekend.

Joe Kidd’s young team are looking forward to their first adventure in the Maiden City and the coaches, players and a number of parents all were involved in the climb on Saturday.

In what was another huge success story, Northend’s Open Nights attracted a large entry of players for the new season in what is looking like it could be one of the biggest years in the Club’s history.

Parents and players alike were treated on the Junior Open Night to a series of drills from the Coerver coaching manual, applied by the Club’s numerous Coerver Youth Diploma and UEFA B-Licence coaches.

BLACKBURN ROVERS COMMUNITY TRUST

Northend United are delighted to welcome the Blackburn Rovers Coaching Staff back to the Showgrounds on Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th August for the second in the planned series of football skills development workshops for the ambitious Ballymena based Club.

As the partnership between Blackburn Rovers and Northend continues to blossom and develop, the Club are looking forward to this pre-season coaching session.

This is an exciting period for our Club following our link with the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and we are on the lookout for new talented coaches to join us on our journey to coaching excellence.

As a new coach you will embark on our Club’s ‘Coach Development Pathway’, which consists of guided practical experience under one of our senior coaches, in Club training and formal coaching qualifications. The Club is fully committed to Coach Education and will provide opportunities to attain formal youth coaching qualifications.
