New karate club to open in Clough

CHUJO Karate Association has announced the start of a new karate club for the village of Clough.

It will commence on Tuesday, October 2, in Clough Community Centre Hall and continue on each Tuesday after that.

Children’s class will begin at 7pm and end at 8pm. Teenagers and adults will then run from 8pm until 9.30pm.

Punctuality is essential and so anyone wishing to take part should arrive and be ready 10 minutes before class start time.

The minimum age is 5 years. There is no maximum age.

No special clothes are needed to take part in karate classes. A tracksuit or loose fitting trousers and a T-shirt will suffice. Later the traditional white uniform can be purchased at the karate club.

Coaches are Alan Logan 2nd Dan and Karen Agnew 1st Dan. Both have experience through the Chujo group. The Club will be in membership of the Chujo Karate Association, a full member of the Northern Ireland Karate Board which is recognised by the Sports Council for NI as the Governing Body for karate in the Province.

Mr Dan Redmond Chief Coach of CKA has congratulated the coaches and wished the new club much success.

Clough karate club will have regular belt exam and seminars.

Karate training has many benefits such as making new friends, gaining confidence, self-defence, fitness, weight loss, stamina etc.
