Colin continues to make big strides in local Fit N Running Club colours

Up and coming Fit N Running athlete Colin Apperley continued his rapid run of improvement since joining the Ballymena club.

His latest success came as he claimed victory at Saturday mornings Limivady parkrun.

He was untroubled throughout and lead from gun to tape finishing in a time of 18mins 42secs over the 2 lap 5k course.

O’BRIEN KILOMARATHON

Mark McKimstry on his comeback after a 3 week summer break claimed a fine 2nd place finish at Davagh forest over an undulating off road 16k course on Saturday.

He finished in 1 hour 41mins with Don Travers of Newry claiming top spot.

Conor Shiels was also in action and used the event as a training run having previously competed at the Dalriada 10k 24hoirs earlier.

Conor finoshed well up the field in 11th place completing the 16k route in 2hoirs 3mins.

At the previous days event in Glenarm he was again well placed in 8th in a time of 39mins 5secs.

In a busy week for Conor he finished 6th at the Ecos Parkrun the week before in a time of 18mins 35secs.

WEEKLY TRAINING

Fit N Running weekly sessions and times are as follows: Monday 615pm Recreational Run; Tuesday 615pm Advanced Run; Wednesday 615pm Conditioning Circuit. All these sessions are from the Michelin Athletic Club.
