Mid-Antrim men’s team begin thier quest for inter-Zone bowling glory this weekend.

For the second successive year, Mid Antrim have been drawn at home to face Armagh in the first round of the Boomer Cup.

In last years corresponding fixture, the visitors and 5 times winners of the competition Armagh won by the narrow margin of 3 shots.

The hosts, who have lifted the coveted inter zone trophy on two occasions have made a total of nine changes from the team which last played against Mid Ulster earlier this year.

The selectors will be hoping they have found the right blend of youth and experience in a team which performed well last year against Armagh, Cork away and Mid Ulster at home.

The reward for the winners of this first round tie will be an away trip to either Cork or North Down in the next round of the competition.

The action gets underway at Killymurris Glarryford at 2pm this Saturday.
