Randalstown Hockey Club First XI claimed a win and a draw from a busy week of action.

In midweek, the Forum girls came out on the right side of a 5-3 scoreline against North Down.

Randalstown got off to a good start on Wednesday evening with Nicole Moore intercepting a ball and scoring the opening goal 3 minutes into the game.

Randalstown’s hard work was again rewarded in the 17th minute when Katherine McDowell scored from a rebound during a penalty corner but a lapse in concentration led to North Down scoring a goal.

In the 25th minute of the game Katherine McDowell scored her second goal of the game from open play making the score 3-1.

In the second half Randalstown came out sharp and Nicole Moore scored from open play within minutes of the game restarting. Shortly after Kerry Coulter scored the fourth goal of the game from a well fought scramble in around the keeper’s feet.

North Down responded and scored a second goal from open play.

In the 30th minute after applying a lot of pressure Randalstown gave away the ball giving North Down the opportunity to gain a penalty corner and make the score line 5-3.

Saturday’s match with Queens ended in a 1-1 draw with Randalstown coming from behind to claim a point after Alex Ogilby converted a second half penalty corner.
