Randalstown 1st XI travelled to Lisnagarvey Hockey Club, Hillsborough for the EYHL Playoff qualifiers over the weekend.

Randalstown were unfortunate to lose their opening match against Lurgan on Friday 1-0 through a short corner set piece.

However they defeated Old Alex 4-0 on Saturday afternoon with goals from Alice Reid, Alice Christie, CJ McDonald and Zoe Wilson.

Both Alices scored well worked goals from open play especially Alice Reid who showed great individual determination to push through the defence.

The other two goals came from short corner routines.

On Sunday Randalstown played Glenanne knowing they needed to win their match to give themselves a good chance of progressing to the next stage of the playoffs.

They beat Glenanne 4-1 scoring three goals in the opening half Katherine McDowell getting a goal and Zoe Wilson scoring the other two.

The final Town goal was scored by Nicole Moore in the second half before Glenanne pulled a consolation goal back.

Once the group was completed, Town topped it on goal difference with Lurgan finishing in second place.

Randalstown progress to the Semi Finals at Three Rock, Dublin next weekend playing Belfast Harlequins at 12.30pm. The winner moves on to the Final on Sunday. All support welcome.
