Members of a Ballymena gymnastics club enjoyed a day they’ll never forget in the company of one of the sport’s greats at the weekend.
Olympic bronze medallist Beth Tweddle was in Ballymena to officially open Valdez Gymnastics Club’s superb new facilities at the Woodside Road industrial estate.
Beth, the most successful British competitor in British gymnastic history, proved a hugely popular attraction as she coached the club’s members and also gave them useful advice and training tips.
She was also on hand to present club members with the medals following the recent club championships.
“We would like to thank Beth for an amazing day and making our official opening so special, everyone had a brilliant time,” said Valdez head coach Julie Vauls.
“I also have to say a huge thank you to the Parents’ Committee for organizing the event - it would not have been possible without all of their work, time and effort.”
Julie also thanked the many sponsors whose generosity and input was vitally important in making it an unforgettable day in the club’s history.
