ANDY Duncan was the first winner of the revived Buckna Presbyterian Church singles tournament on Saturday.

The competition used to be a regular event on the tournament calendar but after an absence of more than a decade, it was brought back by an organising committee headed by Robert Black.

Duncan, representing Second Donegore, was a comfortable winner in the final against Uel Gordon (Ballinrees).

Michael McMaster (First Ahoghill) and Darren McCullough (Antrim Lawn Bowling Club) were the beaten semi-finalists.

The tournament was deemed a success and it is envisaged that it will once again become an annual event.

The organisers have thanked main sponsor William Hamill & Son Ltd, along with James McNeill Hardware, Broughshane, and Ricky O’Melvenna, of McAllister’s Butchers, Broughshane, who also provided sponsorship.
