FAIRHILL Bar won’t forget their first Ballymena, Harryville & District League game of 2013 in a hurry!

Starting the new year with a victory was one thing for the Ahoghill side – doing it by inflicting a first Ballymena, Harryville & District Darts League defeat in 18 YEARS on multiple champions Drifters was quite another!

What makes it all the more amazing is that Drifters were 3-0 up in the match and seemingly coasting towards another routine victory, before Fairhill reeled off the next five games in succession to complete a famous victory.

Star performer on an amazing night for Fairhill was George Barr, who hit a 15-dart leg – the best of the week throughout the league.

Robert Beggs (Fountain Arrows) had the week’s best finish with a 120 checkout, followed by: 116 Ryan Gault, 82 - Ashley Rainey, 80 John Robinson (Diamond), 105 - Shane Carlin (Greenhills), 100 - Justin Cushenan, 72 - Neil Marshall & 80 Irene Lowry (Ladysmith Arrows).

Davy Wilson (Diamond), Davy McFall (Drifters), George Barr (Fairhill), Steven Hamer (Social) and Junior Cushenan (Ladysmith Arrows) all hit 180s.
