Inbetweeners close gap as ‘Big Two’ pool clash is postponed

WITH the potential Michelin Ballymena Towers Pool League-deciding clash between Connolly’s ‘B’ and Michelin Masters postponed last week, Michelin Inbetweeners took the opportunity to cut the gap on their club-mates at the top of the table with a win over Coach Bar.

Michelin Inbetweeners 4, The Coach 2: KD Crabbe got the Coach off to a good start when he beat Lee Wright in straight frames.

In game two Gary Ormandy squared the match when he defeated Aaron Erwin also in straight frames.

Chris Penney put the Inbetweeners into the lead for the first time when he beat Derek Steele by a 2-0 scoreline.

Gareth Rowe increased the lead for Michelin to 3-1 when he came from behind to beat Paul Gray 2-1.

Coach pulled a game back in the fifth game when Darren Gilmore had a win in straight frames over Ryan Logan.

In the final game Phil Houston ensured victory for Inbetweeners when he defeated Denise Mitchell by a 2-1 scoreline after losing the first frame. MOM - Gareth Rowe.

Fairhill Hustlers 5, Horse & Jockey 1: Robert Graham put the Fairhill into the lead with a 2-0 win over Eddie Maxwell, followed by another 2-0 win by George McCullough who defeated Raymond Campbell.

In game three Ritchie Irwin made it 3-0 when he beat Martin McClintock also by a 2-0 scoreline and Ritchie had an eight-ball clearance in the second frame of his match.

In game four the Horse & Jockey pulled a game back with a win for Danielle Handleywho beat Paul Hayes in straight frames.

Derek Dunlop made it 4-1 for the Fairhill with a 2-0 win over Henry Butler and in the final game Justin Kilpatrick finished it off for the Fairhill with a 2-1 win over Norman Clark. MOM - Ritchie Irwin.

Social Sports 2, Connolly’s A 4: Pat McAnally got the away team off to a good start when he beat Ross Hill in straight frames.

In game two Joey McNally made it 2-0 for Connolly’s when he came from behind to defeat Eddie Fleck 2-1.

Kevin Scullion made the score 3-0 when he defeated Richard Turtle in straight frames.

Connolly’s piled on the pressure when they also took the fourth game through Rory McCormack who came from being one down to win 2-1 against John Fleck.

The fifth game was won by Joni Millar for the Social Sports with a 2-1 win over Sean Donnelly and in the last game Richard Campbell also won for the Social Sports with a win in straight frames over William Mitchell. MOM - Rory McCormack.
