Montgomery’s support rugby club’s youth work

MONTGOMERY’S Restaurant and Coffee Shop have agreed to sponsor Ballymena RFC’s Youth Rugby Section.

Following a meeting between the Club and proprietors Mark and Richard Montgomery an agreement was reached to provide food for all Ballymena’s youth teams and all visiting teams during the incoming season.

Richard Montgomery stated: “As a family we have always supported youth rugby at Eaton Park.

“With the opening of the restaurant and coffee shop we saw the opportunity to again offer our support to the great efforts being made at the Club.

“The Club have worked hard to include young people from all communities in the borough and we are delighted to be able to support their cross community and cross border initiatives.”

Tom Wiggins Ballymena RFC’S Director of Community Rugby said: “It is fantastic to have Montgomery’s back on board in the new season.

“As a youth section we try to provide young people not only with rugby coaching but also with life experiences. It is only with the support of local businesses such as Montgomery’s that we can continue with these efforts.”

Youth rugby has resumed at the Club with the Under 19s back in pre-season training. Training for the Under 13s, Under 15s and Under 17s will commence on Wednesday 22nd August at 7pm. Anyone wishing to play rugby, irrespective of their experience will be made very welcome.
