TRYING to pick my favourite 10 songs of all time wasn't easy. There are so many songs that I feel should be on the list but I think I've got it down to my final 10. I should say, these are in no particular order, except for my No.1
Picking was hard enough without ranking them as well!

My Top 10

1. Undiscovered - James Morrison - A modern track, this has the ability to stick in your head when you hear it and you find yourself humming for days afterwards. A very hard song to hear and not sing along to.

2. Everybody Hurts - REM - This was voted the most depressing song ever but I love it. Even without the amazing video I still get a lump in my throat every time I hear this song.

3. Danny Boy - Van Morrison - This was my grandmother's favourite song and was played on a lone penny whistle at her funeral but for some reason I get warm childhood memories flooding back when I hear it.

4. Children - Robert Miles - More upbeat and the first song I ever danced to (in public) and for anyone who has ever seen me dance, that's a big deal.

5. Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding - This is a really mellow song and every time I hear it, I get a vivid mental image of sitting on a pier on a sunny evening chilling out. Great track.

6. Sunshine Of Your Love - Cream - I have a bit of a soft spot for a good guitar solo and this track has just that. It's a great song - upbeat, catchy and full of great instrumental solos.

7. November Rain - Guns 'n' Roses - Another great guitar track. I'm not a huge fan of the band in general but I could listen to the guitar solo in this track all day.

8. For My Father - Andy Magee - Most of you won't have heard of this one but it is an awesome piece of music. It's an instrumental accoustic guitar piece but it's just so emotive it has to be heard to be appreciated.

9. Mad World - Gary Jules -: A bit like Everybody Hurts, this is a track that really strikes an emotional chord with me and (excuse the cliche) is truly haunting.

10. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd - Number One on my all-time list. I first heard this song at a party played by a fan and liked it. When I heard the real thing a few days later, I was hooked. This song has everything - amazing instrumentals, lyrics that really make you think and the perfect hook. Not many days go by that I don't listen to this track.

Well, that's my lot. I'm sure most of you will feel that you've learned a bit about me as a person by reading my Top 10 songs but, if I'm being honest, most of them will have changed by the time the January sales start so don't read too much in to them! Thanks for the taking the time to hear out and have a Happy Christmas!
