IN PREVIOUS reports we have noted the commitment of the Edens family in Leyland in Lancashire to Sports Bond over the past few years. The four family members are all members of Maurice Anderson's agency in Gracehill. This week it was the turn of Hugh Edens (A6921) to become a major £50 winner. Thanks and a Happy New Year to our friends from Lancashire. The Player Pool agency under the guidance of Bertnel Thompson had a major win this week with Noel Anderson (A4187). In C
Trevor McCullough (B0007) was a winner only a few weeks ago , again a £10 winners on Geoff Cooke’s agency. Another previous winner was Ronnie Mellon (A8205) on the Fairhill agency. The Seven Towers agency had a £10 winner with Laurence Carleton (A5
624) and Sharon Gilmore had a £10 winner with family member J. Gilmore (B7409).

In the consolation £15 section Mary Ann Arthur (B2858) was a winner on John Davison’s agency, Jonathan Stirling (A4778) won £15 on Luke Gaston’s agency and Eddie Gilmore (C4778) had an eventful week with £15 on Sports Bond and a win in the delayed New Year draw.

No Jackpot was won even though the numbers were low, 3, 4, 7 and 14, the Jackpot now reaches £700 for this week.

Agent News

Two of our leading agents had some recent misfortune. Seven Towers agent Tommy Patterson was hospitalised in the last week. Happily Tommy is now out of hospital and attended Saturday’s game. Boyd Douglas also suffered a fall due to icy conditions and cracked a few ribs.

Both are sent best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Xmas/New Year Draw

Saturday saw the delayed Xmas/New Year draw take place. The winning ticket drawn by Norman McBurney for the fantastic weekend in Scotland was won by Harpo of the Imperial Bar. Harpo we believe is Nigel Wallace. The second prize of £100 from Sports Bond was won by Siobhan Shiels of Portgoenone, ticket drawn by Nigel McIlrath. Siobhan as it happens, is a sister of Craig Gilmore of the Chilli Pepper Tattoo who sponsored the third prize of a voucher for the Tattoo studio and which was won by former British Lion and Ballymena Rugby stalwart Stevie Smith. This is not the first Stevie has enjoyed success as he is a Sports Bond winner and Easter Sports Draw winner. Fourth prize of a hamper was won by Eddie Gilmore.

Other prize winners are as follows:

5th prize CD Player Tanya Foster

6th prize Utree Restaurant meal for 2 Dorena Rogers

7th prize Ballymena Utd Goodie bag Tina Lynch

8th prize Family Cinema Ticket Kiera Hughes

9th prize Floral Voucher – Sally’s Nigel Hume

10th prize Bottle of Bushmills Lucille Smith

11th prize Bottle of spirits Jimmy Patterson, Norman Emery, Doris Emery

Michael Church, Adam Steele and D. Fletcher

Thanks to all who sold tickets to ensure this year’s was another huge success. In fact this years draw was way in excess of Ballymena’s share of the gate receipts on Saturday. That is a fact that shows how important the Xmas Draw is, it is the single largest event in the Sales/Marketing calendar.

Used Clothing

Brian Thompson has reported a huge increase in clothes receipts since the New Year. Over the weekend I collected 20 bags and had a further 10 delivered to the office. Amongst these there were four large bags from the McDowell family of Ahoghill.
