CHRIS Ramsey this week handed Ballymena United a boost by pledging his immediate future to the club.
The 19-year-old defender has extended his initial short-term deal until the end of the season – and then hinted that he would like to remain at the Showgrounds beyond this summer.

Ramsey has been a revelation since he joined the Sky Blues in October at a time when Roy Walker's side was facing a defensive crisis.

Since then, the former Northern Ireland youth international has been a mainstay in Walker's back four, performing with distinction at both right-back and in the centre of defence.

"It has been a good move for me and I'm pleased to be staying at Ballymena," Ramsey told Times Sport.

"I had been due to speak to Ronnie McFall but I figured I was enjoying myself at Ballymena and wanted to stay there.

"I have a great relationship with Roy Walker and I'm happy playing for him.
