As one of the more unusual hobbies you could have, beekeeping is a bit of a buzz word.

So why not consider taking the 10 week course being offered by Mid Antrim Beekeepers’ Association.

Starting on Tuesday evening, February 18, the Preliminary Beekeeping Course affiliated to the Ulster Beekeepers’ Association (UBKA) covers the basics of beekeeping from setting up an apiary and acquiring bees to health & safety.

It also covers hive management, swarm control, disease control and honey production.

The minimum age for candidates participating is 16 years old and the cost, including the examination fee, is £100.
