Jenny Bristow is encouraging families, local groups, and workplaces throughout Ballymena to register now.

Jenny says “Help raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of a heart attack, and raise funds by signing up to host a Ticker Tea Party. NICHS will send you a party pack including symptom cards for you and your party attendees, posters, fundraising tips and recipes for some of my favourite healthy tea party snacks to help you get the party started!”

Sadly current statistics show that approximately 44 people die from heart attacks every year in the Ballymena area but survival rates could be improved if people recognised the symptoms and took action quicker.

Ticker Tea Parties can be organised on a date to suit you, anytime until World Heart Day which is on September 29.

It’s as simple as setting a date for your tea party; inviting friends, family or work colleagues, and organising refreshments and snacks of your choice.

Donations from Ticker Tea Parties will help the charity save and transform local lives. This year NICHS will invest £800k into care and prevention of heart related illnesses including research which is urgently needed to understand the causes and save more lives.

Upon signing up you will receive some of Jenny Bristow’s favourite healthy tea party snack recipes, which will help with the preparations! Visit www.nichs.org.uk/TickerTea to register.
