Places available for Biodiversity Summer Schools

Local children are being given the opportunity to take part in a summer scheme with a difference.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is hosting a number Biodiversity Summer Schools taking place throughout the borough this summer.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor John Scott, said: “These fun-filled family summer schools are packed with outdoor activities for kids to explore and discover trees, mini-beasts, river life and much more.

“The aim is to inspire and encourage people to discover more about the incredible species and habitats on our doorsteps.”

The summer schools will take place from 10am to 12 noon on the following dates:

Thursday, July 21 to Friday, July 22, Canal Walk, Toomebridge;

Monday, August 22 to Wednesday, August 24, Crumlin Glen;

Thursday, August 25 to Friday, August, 26 River Maine, Randalstown.

Cost for the programme is £5 per child per venue and children must be accompanied by an adult.
