Helping Ballymena families have a scarily good time at the ‘Out Of This World festival’ - Translink is hosting a special Halloween Family Train.

Running from Ballymena to Londonderry on Saturday October 29, passengers will have the chance to travel in Halloween-themed carriages where there will be face painters, fun activities and prizes for the best fancy dress.

Claire Vaux, Brand Manager, Translink explained: ‘The ‘Out Of This World’ festival in Londonderry is such a great event every year so we want to make it easy for families to get there.

“We encourage all Halloween revellers to ditch the car and take the train to the festival. There will be lots of fun events for children, and with our Family and Friends offer – just £15 for unlimited travel for two adults and up to four children – it’s a cost-effective way to travel.

“In addition to the Halloween Family Train we are offering enhanced rail services from 27th – 31st October for the festivities, including a late service from Londonderry to Belfast Central at 9.33pm in addition to the regular scheduled services.

“We encourage everyone to put on their best fancy dress and have a spooky day in Derry-Londonderry this Halloween weekend!”

Tickets for the Halloween Family Train can be purchased in advance at Great Victoria Street and Belfast Central rail stations in Belfast as well as Coleraine rail station.
