The festive season is fast approaching and what would Christmas be without a good old fashioned panto?

The Alternative Medicine Theatre Company is bringing Rapunzel The Pantomime to the stage of The Braid Theatre later this month and there is certain to the plenty of fun for all the family.

The company will tell the magical tale of beautiful Rapunzel, locked in a tower by the Wicked Witch Gothel.

Will Rapunzel ever see beyond the tower and be reunited with her Mother having been snatched away from her so many years ago?

Glittering with comedy and magical hair, this is a fairytale not to be missed.

Taking on the role of Rapunzel is Eimer Irvine.

Eimer is no stranger to The Alternative Medicine Theatre having joined in 2008 at the age of 10.

Audience members may know her as the Fairy of the panto over the past few years but she is very excited to be playing the leading lady for the first time this year in Rapunzel.

The Alternative Medicine Theatre has been producing shows for over 25 years now and each year the proceeds have gone to a different charity with the most recent charity, the Alzheimer’s Society, receiving £2000 in 2013.

During the run up to each show, the company put on many fundraisers for their chosen charity and to help make their productions possible.

All ticket proceeds this year will be donated to the Neuroendocrine Tumour Patient Foundation and Arthritis UK.

Rapunzel will be staged at The Braid on Thursday November 24, Friday November 25, and Saturday November 26, with the curtain going up at 7.30pm each evening. There will also be a matinee on Saturday November 26 at 1.30pm.

Tickets are priced £8.00 and £5.00 (concession), and are available from the Theatre Box Office or online at www.thebraid.com.
