WHILE Carniny under 16s and 17s enjoyed quite comfortable wins, the 10s and 11s took part in much tighter affairs but still secured the same three points.
In Northern Ireland's 'elite' National League, both the club teams in competition went down to Dungannon and Cliftonville as the 13s and 14s had free weeks.

UNDER-10

Carniny 7, Rosario 6: Carniny had won the sides' last meeting 6-2 but this was a much tighter affair.

Within the first minute Rosario were a goal up as Carniny were caught sleeping.

This gave Carniny the kick they seem to need to get going and it was level after nine minutes when Dawkins scored with a superb left foot strike.

Then the reds went in front through a Dawkins penalty only for Rosario to level again. Stewart put Carniny back in front and Dawkins added a fourth and his second to send the reds in 4-2 up at half time.

The second half began like the first with Rosario scoring an early goal to make it 4-3 and Dobbin saving a penalty to keep Carniny in front.

Then Lemon added Carniny's fifth and McDonnell making it 6-3 for the reds, but Rosario were by no means finished and scored again to make it 6-4 with Stewart getting his second and Carniny's seveth but Rosario scored two more to make it 7-6 with five mins left. Carniny held on but were glad to hear the final whistle.

Carniny: Dobbin, Shaw, Neilly, Marshall, Lennon, McHenry, Lemon, Leetch, Dawkins, Wylie, Stewart, McDonnell, Reid, Apsley.

UNDER-11

Carniny 4, Dungoyne 2: Carniny produced their best performance of the season to defeat a strong Dungoyne side at a freezing Hydebank.

Sloppy defending let the east Belfast side in for the opener in the first minute but within two minutes Conor Doherty bagged a brace to put the Reds in command.

After a period of sustained pressure Cameron Neilly slammed the ball home to make it three one and with ten minutes to go Doherty once again outpaced the defence to complete his hat trick.

Dungoyne came back strongly in the last ten minutes and grabbed a deserved consolation with a superb 20 yard strike into the top corner but there was no denying Carniny a precious three points.

Carniny: McClean, McComb, Evans, McGall, Adams, McNeill, Stewart, Keenan, Savage, Neilly, Doherty, Anderson, McKee.

UNDER-12

Carniny 2, Dungannon 8: The opening 15 minutes were completely dominated by Dungannon and Carniny who were very poor, during this period found themselves 3-0 down.

The second half was much the same as the first with Dungannon dominating, but at least the Carniny lads' plays with a bit more urgency. Dungannon scored two more quick goals, with Carniny looking for offside on both occasions but to no avail.

Carniny managed to pull a goal back when Owen Marquess scored from the penalty spot after a Carniny player was upended in the box.

However Dungannon scored again after a mix up in the Reds' defence to make it 6-1 and shortly after a cross from the right floated over the Carniny goalkeeper's head into the net to make it 7-1.
