WAVENEY Youth went out of the NIBFA cup on Saturday losing on penalties to Glendowan FC after the match finished 3-3 after extra time.
The first half was a struggle for Waveney who found themselves two down at half time to a well organised Glendowan side.

The second half was totally different as the home team dominated and drew level with two well taken goals from Kyle Jackson.

The visitors didn't lie down and went up the other end to take the lead again but Waveney showed great character to get back in the game again with Kyle Jackson completing his second successive hat trick to take the game into extra time.

The two ten minute periods of extra time did not produce any more goals which resulted in the dreaded penalty shoot out which unfortunately Waveney lost 4-1.

The game was a credit to both teams and the Waveney players should be proud of themselves for taking part in a great game of football.

Waveney: Brown, Dunlop, Stewart, Logan, Henry, Weir, Mills, Hanlon, Stewart, Jackson, Corrigan. Subs: Gaston, Frew, Stock, Balmer.

This Saturday, Waveney are away to Carnmoney in the Knockout Cup at the Valley Leisure Centre.
