Waveney progress in Knockout Cup

WAVENEY Youth under-13s progressed to the next round of the knock out cup after a 6-2 victory over Carmoney Colts at the Valley on Saturday morning.
Kyle Jackson opened the scoring only for Carnmoney to equalise straight away, but two more strikes from Jackson put Waveney back in control. Incidentally this was his third successive hat trick.

Further goals from Ryan Stewart, Aaron Weir and Craig Gaston completed the scoring.

Manager Colin Stewart gave Chris Stock his first start of the season and he put in a solid performance.

Other notable performances came from Jordan Stewart, Jonny Logan, Nico Dunlop and Michael Balmer who was given man of the match. Waveney: Brown, Dunlop, Stewart, Logan, Stock, Hanlon, Mills, Balmer, Stewart, Jackson, Corrigan. Subs: Weir, Henry, Gaston, Frew.Waveney’s next game is on January 9 against Castleview Swifts at the Showgrounds.

Everybody involved with Waveney Youth would like to express gratitude to all the staff at the Ballymena United Social Club who gave the club permission, to collect money for our club, before the Ballymena v Linfield match on Saturday also, thanks go to everyone who contributed to the collection.
