Ballymena groups score cash windfall‘hat-trick’

THREE groups from Ballymena are sharing in a grants windfall of almost £19,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme.

The lion’s share of the local kitty was secured by the Ballymena Family & Addicts Support Group which was awarded £9,585 to equip an internet cafe in their centre and provide a range of activities for young people.

The Dunclug Partnership was awarded a grant of £5,707 to run a range of activities for older people, younger people, ethnic minorities and the wider community and the Carnlea Orange Hall Management Committee received £3,314 which they will use to buy new chairs to help them run their events for the local community.

The three groups shared in a grants roll-out of £554,391 to 69 groups across Northern Ireland.

Awards for All offers community, voluntary and statutory groups the chance to apply for small grants of between £500 and £10,000 that will have a big impact on local communities and the lives of people most in need.
