Belsonic 2013 line-up is revealed

BELSONIC returns to Belfast’s Custom House Square this August, delivering an eclectic range of world class musical artists.

The festival has become renowned for bringing international talent to the heart of the city centre’s Cathedral Quarter.

Among this year’s all-star cast of headline acts are Basement Jaxx, Ben Howard, The Lumineers, Jake Bugg, Suede, Steve Angello and Bullet For My Valentine.

Electronic superstars Basement Jaxx, who will headline on Friday, August 16, are best known for their massive audio/visual live show, and huge club hits including ‘Red Alert’ and ‘Where’s Your Head At?’ The English duo behind Basement Jaxx, comprising of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, release their sixth studio LP, entitled ‘Music’, later this year.

Ben Howard and guests will be performing on Saturday, August 17. BRIT Award winning singer-songwriter Ben Howard shot to fame following the release of his acclaimed debut album ‘Every Kingdom’.

His dark indie-folk stylings have drawn comparisons to Nick Drake & John Martyn.

American folk-rock group The Lumineers will be performing on Thursday, August 22. They took the UK by storm with debut single ‘Ho Hey’ and their self titled debut, which has already been certified gold in the UK, US, Canada & Ireland. They are currently embarked on a sold out European tour.

Friday, August 23 sees English singer-songwriter Jake Bugg take to the stage. He shot straight to Number 1 in the UK album charts in October 2012 with his eponymously debut LP. His success has continued into 2013, with a string of sold-out UK shows, and plaudits from Noel Gallagher & The Stone Roses.

Belsonic continues on Saturday, August 24 with Suede. Having recently reformed after almost 10 years of hiatus, Suede are preparing to release ‘Bloodsports’, a brand new LP. The band’s heavyweight back catalogue includes ‘The Beautiful Ones’, ‘Trash’, ‘Animal Nitrate’ and ‘New Generation’.

On Sunday, August 25 Steve Angelo, a household name in dance music, whether it be through his own chart-topping productions, or his work as a member of Swedish House Mafia will take to the stage. He is joined on this bill by label-mates AN21, Max Vangeli and Third Party.

The festival rounds off on Monday August, 26 with Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizons and guests.
