Coaching4Christ is a ministry whereby lives and communities are transformed by Christ through Sport. Football is a worldwide means of creating friendships, bringing discipline, developing personalities, characteristics and skills in the lives of young people.

Coaching4Christ take it a step further, to speak to young people about their values in life and where God fits into all those areas.

Founder Stephen Crawford says: “What started as six men meeting together with a vision, has grown to 45 coaches running eight Development Centres in Northern Ireland, coaching in over 40 schools, reaching over 1000 children a week.

“The ministry’s core values are commitment, excellence and unity, and without these principles and God’s blessing, all of this would not have been possible.”

The work is not just local but also worldwide and since a first trip to Kenya in 2006, teams have travelled to and ministered in South Africa, Morocco, Zimbabwe, Spain, Serbia, Poland, Italy, India and Uganda. All of which have witnessed many lives changed as a result of God’s grace.

In 2012, the ‘Reaching Out’ charity shop opened on Church Street, Ballymena, and in 2013 the premises formerly known as The Washbasin in Ahoghill were purchased to accommodate all areas of the growing ministry.

Following that, the Training Academy was established to equip people in sports ministry, both in areas of coaching ability and Bible teaching seminars.

And, within the past few months Coaching4Christ has embarked on another very exciting project, the creation of Unite Gym which will open on Saturday, April 25, at 10.30am. Also on that date, the Centre will be open from 10am-2pm to celebrate the 10th anniversary.
